Twelve Escambia County High School students are going to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall, but will need to raise $20,000 to cover the remaining cost of the trip.

ECHS Choir Conductor Conrad Weber said the students paid their initial deposit for the trip already, and there are going to be multiple opportunities to help the students in their efforts.

Weber said on Dec. 6 at 6 p.m., the Escambia County Middle School and ECHS choir students are performing their winter concert at the high school auditorium.

Admission to the concert is $3 for adults, and $1 for students in grades 1-12.

“There will be an opportunity to donate additional funds for the Carnegie trip,” Weber said.

Then on Tues., Dec. 13, the ECHS choir students will have a VIP dinner at the school cafeteria at 6 p.m.

Weber said the choir will perform at the dinner, and more information about the trip will be shared as well.

Cost for the dinner is $25 per person, or $40 per couple.

Tickets may be purchased at the ECHS front office, the Escambia County Board of Education’s Atmore office — next to the YMCA — or by contacting Weber at james.weber@escochools.net.

If individuals or businesses wish to make a contribution outside of these events, they are asked to contact Weber directly or call the ECHS office at 368-9181. Additional fundraising events are in the works, and will be announced at a later date.
