Lambert said deputies responded to the area, along with the K-9 tracking team from the prison just in case the juvenile fled.

“The juvenile was spotted on Presswood Bridge Rd. by Capt. Forbes, but the juvenile ran on foot,” Lambert said. “The K-9 tracking team was then deployed and the juvenile was apprehended a short while later without incident.”

Authorities believe that the escaped juvenile was aided by his girlfriend, according to the release.

“The girlfriend was also located in a vehicle in the Presswood Bridge area,” Lambert said. “The juvenile and his girlfriend were taken into custody and turned over to Monroe County deputies.”

Lambert sad the case is still under investigation.
