Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks encouraged residents last week to keep their car doors locked as the police department investigated numerous vehicle thefts around the Forrest Hill Dr. and Rocky Way Creek Rd. areas.

Brooks said several complaints were called into the APD on Dec. 14, in the morning hours after victims noticed items missing from their vehicles.

“The following evening, the suspects were at it again when the Atmore police was called and notified of suspicious activity around the Rocky Creek Rd. area,” Brooks said. “Atmore police quickly responded and made contact with a male subject who was arrested after stolen property was found on his possession.”
