Alton “Hawkeye” Godwin Jr.

Mr. Alton “Hawkeye” Godwin Jr., 61, passed away on Sat., Dec. 24, 2016, in Mobile.

He was a native of Pensacola, Fla. and has resided in Poarch for the past 16 years. Hawkeye loved family and friends and was of the Holiness Faith.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alton Edward Godwin Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Irene Godwin of Atmore; wife, Bell Godwin of Poarch; two sons, Joseph (Kathy) McGugin of Grand Bay and Chad (Latasha) Godwin of Poarch; one daughter, Chastity (Bunk) Peebles of Poarch; one brother, Thomas Phillip (Cynthia) Godwin of Mobile; four sisters, Glenda (Byron) Arrington of Milton, Fla., Elizabeth Monachello of Atmore, Katherine (Larry) McDuffie of Atmore and Jackie (Joe) Andrews of Crestview, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wed., Dec. 28, 2016, from the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Ward and Bro. Walter Rolin officiating

Burial followed at the Judson Creek Indian Cemetery.

Visitation was held Dec. 27, 2016 at the Friendly Holiness Church.

Pallbearers were Adam Hadley, Eric McDuffie, Shawn Rolin, Kevin Andrews, Brian Couch and Jason Griffey.

Honorary pallbearers were Johnny McGhee, Ernest Rolin, Odell McGhee, Mike Bethea and Tinker Rolin.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.

 

Buford Eugene Flowers

Mr. Buford Eugene Flowers, 74, passed away on Tues., Dec. 27, 2016, in Bay Minette.

He was a native of Phillipsville and has resided in Bay Minette for most of his life. He was a member of the Vision Ministries Church of God. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oron Samuel Flowers and Olivia Jeanette Flowers; daughter, Cindy Flowers; and brother, Oron Devan Flowers.

He is survived by wife, Josephine Flowers of Bay Minette; one daughter, Sherry and Bert Pierce of Mobile; one brother, Gordon Allen Flowers of Ohio; two sisters in law, Gayle Flowers of Bay Minette and Shirley Jean Bryars of Mobile; two brothers in law, Jerry Long of Mobile and Dennis Long of Rabun; and one grandson, Connor Pierce.

Funeral services were held Dec. 29, 2016 from the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Blackmon officiating.

Burial will follow at the Perdido Baptist Cemetery.

Visitation was held Dec. 29, 2016 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Jay, Don Ridge, Darin Thompson, Chris Long, Clay Bedford and Develle Griffin.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to the Vision Ministries Church of God.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.

 

Jermaine Bradley

Mr. Jermaine Bradley, 45, a resident of Bay Minette, passed away on Dec. 24, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. this Sat., Jan. 7, 2017, from Triumph Holiness Church in Stockton with Minister Randy Bradley officiating. Interment will be held at Morning Star Cemetery in Uriah. Mayberry Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Oribe L. Brackett

Mr. Oribe L. Brackett, 46, a resident of Mobile, passed away on Dec. 31, 2016, at USA Medical Center in Mobile.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced Mayberry Funeral Home.

Ruth Arlene Mininger

Ruth Arlene Mininger, 77, of Moundridge, Kan., formerly of Walnut Hill, Fla., passed away Sat., Dec. 24, 2016, in Moundridge.

She was a homemaker, born in Goessel, Kan. on Nov. 11, 1939, to the late George and Leah Boeckner Dyck.

She was a member of the Walnut Hill Mennonite Church.

Survivors are her husband, Robert “Bob” Mininger of Moundridge; three sons, Gary

(Roberta) Mininger and Kevin (Debbie) Mininger, both of Walnut Hill and Arlen (Teresa)

Mininger of Albertville; one daughter, Starla (Randy) Yost of Moundridge; one

brother, Edwin (Loretta) Dyck of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; one sister, Maxine (Elwood)

Koehn of Moundridge; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Dec. 29, 2016 from Southern Harbor Mennonite Church, with Bro. Verle Peters officiating. Interment followed in Walnut Hill Memorial Gardens.

Family received friends Dec. 28, 2016, from Southern Harbor Mennonite Church at Davisville, Fla.
