Sheriff’s office looking for information on weekend incident
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information in regard to three men who were involved in a shooting that occurred on Jan. 14 at a residence on Sunset Dr. in Atmore.
Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said the shooting took place at 12:35 a.m. on Sat., Jan. 14, at 859 E. Sunset Dr.
“We received a call that three subjects had been shot at that residence,” Lambert said. “All of them went to the hospital by private vehicle, and one went to Atmore Community Hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The other two were transported by private vehicle to North Baldwin Infirmary in Bay Minette.”
Lambert said the subject who went to ACH was later transferred to USA Medical Center for surgery, and is in stable condition.
“The other two — one was shot in the head and one was shot in the leg,” he said. “The one that was shot in the head went to USA. Both were treated for non-life threatening injuries.”
Lambert said all three said they were outside of the residence when a vehicle pulled up.
“Two unidentified subjects came out and told the three subjects to give them all of their money,” Lambert said. “They told them they didn’t have any. The suspect then fire shots, striking them and fled the area.”
Lambert didn’t release the names of the subjects as the case is still under investigation.
