A home invasion and assault occurred at a residence on Harrison Dr. on Sunday afternoon, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said the incident took place at approximately 4:40 p.m. at 154 Harrison Dr., near the airport off of Old Bratt Rd.

“The subject claimed he was at home and said a white male, white female and white juvenile were trying to buy a vehicle from him,” Lambert said. “They forced their way into the residence, forced him down and duck taped him.”

Lambert said the assailants then turned around, beat him and assaulted him and left.

Lambert said nothing was taken from the residence.

“He was able to eventually escape and went to a relative’s residence nearby,” Lambert said. “The relative transported him to Atmore Community Hospital, and deputies arrived to find him there. He had no life threatening injuries, only cuts and bruises and a fractured arm.”

Lambert said names aren’t being released as the case is still under investigation.
