The Atmore Police Department is looking for an individual who fled on foot as a result of a car crash on Jones St. this afternoon, according to officials.

Chief Chuck Brooks said a police unit was trying to stop a wanted fugitive with felony warrants.

“The subject fled in a vehicle. The unit chased the fugitive to a location off of Jones St., where the suspect wreckdd and fled on foot,” Brooks said.

Brooks said the department isn’t releasing the suspect’s name at this time, and the search was called off due it advancing in a heavy foot traffic area.
