Antonio DeWarren Martin

Antonio DeWarren Martin, 42, was a native of Atmore, born to the late Catherine M. Lemon and Larry Montgomery.

He leaves to cherish a devoted wife of 17 years, Tnequa Martin; two devoted children, Kendrick Lawson and Catherine Martin; two devoted grandsons, Zereon Dafney and Brayln Elliot; a devoted mother in law, Sally Earl; father in law, Alfred (Inez) Earl; four brothers, Walter (Vangela) Franklin, Victor Payne, Roger (Cassandra) Martin and Robert McDonald; two god sisters, Marquita and Shaquita Mathews; one god brother, Roderick Mathews; a host of aunts, uncles, friends and other relatives; and the late Terry Martin Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. this Fri., March 10, 2017, at Faith Tabernacle in Atmore. The service will be officiated by Bishop Bernard Bishop.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow, Thurs., March 9, at Mayberry Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery.

Mayberry Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Homer “Bud” Mitchell

Mr. Homer “Bud” Mitchell, 101, the last surviving child of Ben and Rosie Mitchell, exchanged his earthy home for his mansion on high on Sun., March 5, 2017, at Willow Trace Nursing and Rehab Center in Butler.

A native of Castleberry (Conecuh Co.), Uncle Bud (as he was affectionately known) had been a resident of Atmore (Freemanville Community) for over 70 years. He was a farmer and member of Antioch Baptist Church (Freemanville).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all of his siblings, including sisters, Willie M. Dread and Willianise Craft; brothers, James C. Sr., Melvin, Loyde, Herman, Elvin and Andrew “Skeeter” Mitchell; and some nieces and nephews.

His life and legacy will be cherished by his devoted nephew/caregiver, Benjamin (Doreen) Dread of Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held this Sat., March 11, 2017, at 1 p.m. from the Longmire-Jones Memorial Chapel of Turner Funeral Chapel, 83 Westbrook Lane, in Atmore with Minister Timothy Craft officiating. Retirement of his remains will be in Stallworth Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel LLC directing.
