ECHS BBQ Festival is this weekend

Back yard barbecue teams will cook for the top prize at the second annual Atmore BBQ Festival this weekend at Tom Byrne Park.

Event organizers said the top price this year is for $2,650 in prize money.

Activities will start on Fri., April 21, with a VIP tasting. Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple. Only 100 tickets will be sold to the tasting.

The competition and festival will be held Sat., April 22, with the opening ceremony slated for 9 a.m. The event is free to the public.

Barbecue lunches will be served starting at 10 a.m. for a $10 donation per plate.

The awards ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m.
