A Uriah man has been arrested on multiple theft charges that were located in the Atmore area, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said the ECSO responded to three different theft of property crimes in the Atmore area.

“Items that were taken and missing were a utility trailer, dump trailer and a boat,” Lambert said. “As deputies began to investigate the crime of the stolen property, they received information that the possible stolen items may be at a residence on Weaver Road in Uriah.”

Lambert said deputies from the ECSO and Baldwin County responded to the location, where they made contact with a 2012 aluminum bass boat and multiple utility trailers, along with the dump trailer.

“The vehicle identification numbers were ran on the items that were in question and they all came back as stolen property from Escambia County,” he said.

Canyon Duff Moye, 21, of Uriah, was located after his mother stated he had just left the residence, and taken into custody in Baldwin County. He was charged with theft of the items.

At present, Moye is out on a $22,500 bond.

Lambert said the case is still under investigation and the ECSO is asking if anyone has any further information, to call 251-809-2154 or visit escambiacountysheriffal.org.
