A flash flood watch is in effect for southeast Mississippi, southwest Alabama and northwest Florida through late Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The watch has been in effect since Sunday evening.

Multiple rounds of heavy rain are expected across the entire area through midweek. The bulk of the rain is expected to impact the area beginning late this evening and lasting through Tuesday night, according to the NWS.

Rainfall totals of 2-3 inches are expected with locally higher amounts near 5 inches possible.
