“Officers arrived on scene and spoke to a salesman who told officers a male entered the store with counterfeit money and asked if they could make change for the $100 bill,” Brooks said. “The salesman quickly recognized the bill was counterfeit and contacted the police.”

Brooks said officers made contact with Joseph Brad Fallon of Mobile while he was still in the store, and after speaking with officers, Fallon handed over the counterfeit money. Brooks said Fallon was arrested and charged with possession of a forged instrument II.

Additionally, Brooks said the APD learned since the arrest that Fallon may have passed other counterfeit bills.
