Burglaries are taking place in Robinsonville area
A rash of auto burglaries has occurred in the Robinsonville area on toward Canoe over the last week, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said the department is actively working on the burglaries, and is still developing suspects at this time.
“We had one last night out on Tumbling Lane,” he said. “Nothing that we can tell was stolen at this time from the vehicle, but somebody definitely went into it.”
Lambert gave two pieces of advice for motorists when parking their cars.
The first tip is to lock their cars, he said.
“Don’t leave any valuables, like cell phones, purses and jewelry out,” Lambert said, adding that a person’s identity can get stolen quite easily once a purse is grabbed.
Lambert said the suspects are pulling the handles of the cars and moving on to something else once they realize it’s locked.
The second tip is that if somebody sees anybody walking in the area, and if neighborhood dogs go on alert and start barking, to please call the ECSO, Lambert said.
Lambert said they can call 911, 251-809-2154 or they can submit an anonymous tip on the ECSO’s website at www.escambiacountysheriffal.org.
Lambert said these burglaries are currently being investigated.
