ALEA shuts down driver license offices to fix issue

UPDATE: All driver license services have been restored statewide after a computer problem was discovered earlier today.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s driver license division has shut down driver license and non-driver ID issuances to address computer problems, according to officials.

According to ALEA, the services will be shut down until computer problems can be resolved. The shut down includes all ALEA offices, probate and license commissioner offices, as well as online issuances.
