BOE transfers personnel

The Escambia County Board of Education named John Brantley the new principal of Rachel Patterson Elementary at its meeting on July 13.

During a meeting on June 29, the board approved the consolidation of A.C. Moore Elementary to Rachel Patterson Elementary and Escambia County Middle School. Brantley was the principal at A.C. Moore.

Brantley has been the principal at A.C. Moore since 2012.

Board officials said Tuesday that the move from A.C. Moore to RPES and ECMS has already begun.

Officials also said that all personnel from A.C. Moore that wanted a job had a job moving forward.

In other business, the board:

• approved the 2017-18 salary schedule; and,

• approved an equipment and beverage bid of $41,549 and $10,799.14 to Hotel and Restaurant Supply and Trident Beverage/Juice Alive, respectively.
