Donations to be accepted for Houston flooding victims

Donations for the flooding victims in Houston, Texas, will be accepted at the Atmore City Hall.

Hoods Discount Home Center, which is located at three destinations on the Gulf Coast, will be delivering the donations sometime in the future.

Mayor Jim Staff said those who would like to donate items, can drop them off at city hall by 3 p.m. this Friday. Staff said he’d drop the items off at Hoods’ Foley location.
Only used or new items and no clothing are accepted.

The following donations are being accepted:

• Bottled water

• Non-perishable food items

• Cleaning supplies, including bleach, mold remover, Clorox wipes, buckets, mops, etc.

• Paper products including toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates and cutlery

• Hygiene products including soap, shampoo, toothpaste and brushes and deodorant, feminine products, etc.

• Diapers and baby items, including for both children and the elderly

• Pet food and supplies, including bowls, litter, collars, etc.

• Batters and flashlights

• Gift cards to Walmart, Sam’s, etc.

• Medicine and other first-aid supply
