The Atmore Police Department is seeking information in regard to a robbery that occurred at Walgreens on Tuesday night.
Chief Chuck Brooks said in a press release that at approximately 9:55 p.m. on Sept. 19, the APD was contacted by Walgreens Corporate Security in response to a robbery in progress at the store on South Main Street.
“Atmore police arrived on scene and made contact with two Walgreens employees who stated that several armed subjects entered the store shortly before closing, and forced them into an office,” Brooks said in the release. “The suspects were wearing all dark clothes and masks.”
Brooks said the suspects took money and prescription pills, and then fled the scene, adding that the employees were not injured, but were visibly shaken and upset.
APD investigators were called to the scene and are investigating the case.
Those with information on the case are encouraged to contact the APD at 251-368-9141.
