History tour to be at WSD

History will be alive and well during Williams Station Day.

As a part of the 200 Alabama Bicentennial celebration, celebrating places, people and stories, towns and cities are putting together events to celebrate all that make the state what it is today. Alabama will celebrate its bicentennial in 2019.

The Atmore 200 Alabama Bicentennial celebration committee will have a living history tour.

Atmore Committee President Jennifer Sanders said the tour will last between 1-1.5 hours.

Stops along the route include Trinity Episcopal Church, where tourists will hear the history of the Carney family; the Strand Theatre; the Atmore Post Office; Atmore City Hall; and Gaines Chapel, where tourists will hear about the African American history of Atmore.
