Donald Vardon Wilson

Mr. Donald Vardon Wilson, 85, passed away on Tues., Dec. 5, 2017, in Birmingham.

He was a native and former resident of Castleberry and has resided in Bay Minette for the past 67 years. He was a member of the Mason Bay Minette Lodge II, 32nd degree Scottish Rite, a shriner, member of ABBA Temple of Mobile, the American Legion Post No. 188 of Bay Minette, and a past member of the Bay Minette VFW.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois M. Paul Wilson; son in law, J.W. Hicks; and great-granddaughter, Harley Levine.

He is survived by his children, Carolyn Brown and husband, Brownie, Kay Hicks, Renee Plato and husband, Bubba, and Gwen Ward and husband, Andy; grandchildren, Michael Worley, Joanne Goff and husband, Jerry Lee, Brandon Hicks and wife, Kimberly, Angel O’Keefe and husband, Allen, Will Plato, Holly Mixon and husband, Chris, Betsy Plato and fiancé, Dustin, Levi Plato, Jared McGhee and wife, Maegan, and Heather Quinn and husband, Cary; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; extended family, T.J. Thompson and wife, Tammy, Margaret Cox (special friend and caregiver) and Roy Wilson; and extended grandchildren, Emily, Little T.J., Colton and Trinity.

Funeral services were held on Fri., Dec. 8, 2017, from the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Chaplain Grant Dykes officiating.

Burial followed at the Bay Minette Cemetery.

Visitation was held Dec. 8 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Michael Worley, T.J. Thompson, Levi Plato, Jared McGhee, Colton Thompson, Brandon Hicks, Will Plato and Jerry Lee Goff.

Honorary pallbearers were Joanne Goff, Betsy Plato, Holly Mixon, Angel O’Keefe, Heather Quinn, Emily Thompson, Tammy Jean Thompson, Freddie McDill and Harry Bryant.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials maybe made to the Veteran’s Administration, American Legion, Shriners or Masonic Lodge.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC was in charge of all arrangements.

Louise Newton Fillingim Dockens

Mrs. Louise Newton Fillingim Dockens, 89, passed away on Fri., Dec. 8, 2017, in Century, Fla.

She was a native of Byrneville, Fla. and has resided in Christian Home, Fla. since 1976. She retired from Abernathy Hospital with 15 years of service and was a member of the Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by the father of her children, Thomas F. Fillingim Sr. and late husband, Harley Dockens; one son, Neil C. Fillingim; daughter in law, Sonya Dyess Fillingim; daughter, Margaret Gail Fillingim Chavers; son in law, Seaborn Chavers; and granddaughter, Crystal Fillingim Criswell.

She is survived by her two sons, John J. (Patsy) Fillingim of Jay, Fla. and Thomas (Fay) Fillingim Jr. of McDavid, Fla.; two step-sons, Harley Lee (Betty) Dockens of Poquoson, Va. and Randy (Hedi) Dockens of New Town, Pa.; one daughter, Susan (Leslie) Barnes of Christian Home; two sisters, Duffie Wells of Bluff Springs, Fla. and Martha Sims of Bluff Springs; one sister in law, Emma Lee Newton of Bluff Springs; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Dec. 11, 2017, from the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Hawkins and Bro. Wayne Long officiating.

Burial followed at the Christian Home Cemetery.

Visitation was held on Dec. 10, 2017, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Billy Criswell, Cameron Fillingim, Blake Barnes, Dustin Rector, Lavon Parham, Arron Fillingim and Michael Fillingim.

Honorary pallbearers were Herman Armstrong, Don Grant, Joe Lister, Robert Newton, Benny Dockens, Donald Ray Dockens and Buddy Newton.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC was in charge of all arrangements.

Annie Bell Lambert

Funeral service for Ms. Annie Bell Lambert, 91, of Atmore, will be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel LLC.

Ms. Lambert answered the Master’s Call on Tues., Dec. 12, 2017, at Atmore Nursing Care Center.
