Pollen, while unwelcome, has returned

Just the other day, I noticed an unwelcome sight on the hood of my car.

We’ve all seen it before, and it makes its appearance for most of the spring.

This substance I’m talking about is pollen.

POLLEN!

Yes, we are still in the early stages of winter, and the first day of spring is March 20.

But, are we really surprised?

We live in south Alabama, where the weather can change on a dime, and where seasons don’t exist.

Last weekend, as I was perusing my Facebook timeline, I noticed one of my friend’s posts of a set of budding flowers.

That was when I knew it was real as far as spring time.

For the rest of the week, we’re slated to have warmer temperatures reaching in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

I am not down with this warmer weather, not one bit.

My parents seem to think we aren’t done yet with the cold weather, and that there is going to be another blast sometime soon.

I tend to believe them, and am wondering when it’s coming back.

I don’t mind when old man winter comes to stay.

I just wish he didn’t go to bed so early.
