A 15-year-old Atmore teen is being charged as an adult in an alleged armed robbery, which included holding a man at gunpoint in a St. Martin hotel room in Mississippi on Feb. 15, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

Sheriff Mike Ezell said in a release that deputies responded to the Red Roof Inn on Cook Road about 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 15.

“There, they found a man from Gulfport (Miss.), who says two men robbed him of money inside the room, and they began fighting,” Ezell said. “The victim told deputies he was hit in the head and escaped the attackers by running down the stairs to the front desk, where he called for help.”

Ezell said in the release that the victim told deputies that he went to the hotel to meet a woman he met on social media, and once he was in the woman’s room, he said someone knocked on the door and the woman allegedly let in the two men he said robbed and attacked him.

“Once deputies got inside the room, they found two men identified as 24-year-old Damion Pierre Maddox and his 25-year-old brother, Darius Michael Maddox Jr., both of Mobile,” he said. “Twenty-seven-year-old Shavona Cierra Tunstall, of Mobile, and 15-year-old Quinecia Shanice Perryman, of Atmore, were also in the room.”

Ezell said Perryman is being charged as an adult because of the nature of the crime.

The investigation is on going, Ezell said.

The four suspects are held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center without bond pending an initial court hearing.
