Teams can still sign up for Rotary clay shoot

Atmore Rotary Club’s fifth annual Benefit Clay Shoot is right around the corner, and club officials said Tuesday that teams can still sign up for the event.
The clay shoot will be held at Bushy Creek Clays in Perdido on Sat., April 14, and funds raised go to the many local projects supported by the club.
The shoot format is teams of four to shoot a round of 100 targets each from 14 stations. Each person will shoot between six to eight targets at each station.
After all teams have finished their round, the scores for each team will be tallied and the team with the highest number of hits will win the event.
Early-bird team registration will end tomorrow Fri., March 16. Cost for a team registered by March 16 is $400, or $100 per shooter.
Cost for a team after March 16 is $500, or $125 per shooter.
Shells will not be included and must be provided by the shooter. Each shooter should bring 110 shells at a minimum.
Eye and ear protection must be worn, and carts are limited and must be reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Participants can bring golf carts or utility vehicles as well.
Teams can also register on the day of the shoot at 8 a.m. A safety meeting will be at 9, and then a shot gun start is slated for 9:30 a.m. Lunch and team awards will follow.
In addition to teams, the club is also looking for sponsors for the clay shoot. The tournament sponsor this year is Wind Creek Casino and Hotel.
