Ramey’s Marketplace in Atmore is on the move.

Officials with Ramey’s confirmed with The Atmore Advance tonight that the store is moving from its Lindberg Avenue location to the Winn-Dixie store on Church Street.

“Ramey’s has entered into an agreement to purchase the fixtures and non-perishable inventory of the Winn-Dixie located on Church Street in Atmore,” Ramey’s Owner Herbert E. Ramey Jr. said in an email.

Ramey said the sale is expected to be finalized or or about the end of April, and will transfer operations to the new location.

“We expect the new store to have approximately 50 full and part time employees, and will provide Ramey’s a great opportunity to offer the residents of Atmore and surrounding areas an enjoyable and rewarding grocery-shopping experience,” he said.

Winn-Dixie’s parent company is Southeastern Grocers. The Atmore Advance has reached out for comment, but hasn’t received a response.
