A HERO’S WELCOME

Sgts. Jacob Maholovich and Michael Bailey are home.

Maholovich and Bailey received a hero’s welcome tonight as Atmore citizens lined Main Street, waiving American Flags and giving thanks.

Both returned home from recent stints in Kuwait.

Both traveled back to Atmore via Interstate 65 from Alabaster, and were escorted through downtown by the police and fire departments.

Maholovich and Bailey were deployed in June 2017 to Kuwait as a part of the 135th expeditionary sustainment unit out of Homewood.

Maholovich is a staff sergeant and has been a member of the Army National Guard for 20 years. He served during Operation Enduring Freedom from 2004-2005.

Bailey is a sergeant and has been a member of the Army National Guard for 15 years, nine of which has been in the active guard reserve.
