Atmore’s 12U Cal Ripken baseball All-Stars finished as the runner up at a district tournament last weekend.

Flomaton defeated the local team 11-0 in the championship on June 10.

Flomaton scored eight runs in the top of the fifth inning on three hits. Caleb Silbernagal, Jackson Newton, Wyatt Kent, CJ Spann, Nathan Egnle, Mason Dullard, JT Alaniz and Will Smith scored in the deciding inning.

Silbernagal pitched a complete game, allowing two hits and no runs.

In the second inning, Flomaton scored two runs.

Atmore’s River Ramer and Brodie Phillips went 1-for-2 each in the game.

Atmore 4, NWE 1

Atmore’s Luke Bell, Charlie Sasser and Phillips led with two hits each.

Harper Harrison had a double in the win.

Carson Wilson, Phillips and Ryan Dove scored one run each in the fourth inning to break a scoreless game. Ramer added one run in the fifth.

NWE scored one run in the top of the fifth inning.

McGhee went 2-for-3 to lead NWE. Reid had one hit.

Atmore 6,

Monroe 2

In a loser’s bracket game, Atmore scored two runs in the first inning, one in the second, two in the fourth and one in the fifth.

Bell went 2-for-3 with two singles; Sasser went 2-for-3 with a double; Josh Burkett went 1-for-3 with a single; and Phillips went 1-for-3 with two runs and a single to lead Atmore.

Monroe’s McMillan had two hits and scored two runs; and Lowery and Lazenby had two hits each.

Flomaton 11, NWE 1

Flomaton scored one run each in the first and third innings, and three runs each in the second, fourth and fifth innings in the win.

NWE 4, Atmore 2

NWE’s Reid went 2-for-4 with a double; Driskell went 1-for-3; and Macks went 1-for-3.

NWE tied the game in the third inning with a run, took the lead in the fourth with two runs and tacked on an additional run in the fifth.

Atmore scored one run each in the second and fourth innings.

Bell went 1-for-3 with a single and a run; and Carson Wilson went 1-for-3 with a single to lead Atmore.

Flomaton 4,

Monroe 3

Flomaton tied the game at 2-2 in the fourth inning, and tacked on two runs to take the lead and win in the sixth.

Monroe scored two runs in the third and one run in the fifth.

Smith went 1-for-3 with a double; Jackson Newton went 1-for-3 with a single; Buddy Brown went 1-for- 3 with a single and a run; Nathan Engle went 2-for-2 with a double and a single; and Matthew Steele went 1-for-2 with a single.

Because of Atmore’s runner up finish, the Cal Ripken team advances to the state tournament on June 28 in Bay Minette.
