For 18 years, Reece and Wilma Lott of Mobile County say they’ve been retired.

The Lotts own Uncle Joe’s Rolling Zoo, a mobile petting zoo. The zoo was at the Atmore Public Library’s Summer Reading Program on June 22.

Young readers and their parents gathered for the event, which featured roosters, rabbits, a cow, a miniature horse, goats and others.

“The kids, they just love the animals,” Reece said.

Reece said the petting zoo is a retirement business, and keeps them busy.

“We just can’t sit down and do nothing,” he said.
