Willie Robert Dixon will be celebrating his 85th birthday this Sat., Aug. 4. Dixon was born on Aug. 3, 1933. He had five sisters and three brothers, all born to Febbie and Mable Dixon. Dixon was married to the late Lillie Kate Dixon for 60 years. Together, they had seven kids (three boys and four girls). Dixon has 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Dixon retired from Escambia County Board of Education after 35 years. He’s a member of the Eureka Masonic Lodge No. 953, also a faithful member of Greater Mt. Triumph for over 50 years and the male choir. Dixon enjoys spending time with his family and also working in his yard. Residents can catch Dixon cruising around town waving and speaking to everyone. Dixon’s birthday celebration will be held on Aug. 4, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Greater Mt. Triumph Fellowship Hall, located at 157 Carver Ave., Atmore, AL 36502.
