Law enforcement still looking for Shari Saunders, 67
A vehicle belonging to a woman who was last seen more than a week ago in an Evergreen gas station was found near the Barnett’s Crossroads area in a heavily wooded area.
Law enforcement officials say 67-year-old Shari Saunders’ car was found on Sunday.
She is said to be traveling from Virginia to Monroeville.
Search and rescue crews were out searching Monday and Tuesday but had not found her when the Atmore Advance went to press.
The ECSO is assisting the Conecuh County in the search.
ECSO Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said that it’s an Escambia County case, but that Saunders was reportedly last seen in a Love’s Truck Stop in Evergreen, which is on Exit 93 on I-65.
“Conecuh County asked us for help due to the close proximity being in the Barnett’s Crossroads area,” he said. “We are currently providing assistance looking for the missing person.”
Lambert said they are currently working to get some technology information and hope to have more information today.
