Jason Pilger Automotive recently purchased the former Chuck Stevens Chevrolet dealership, according to officials.

The original Chevrolet dealership, known as Staff Chevrolet, opened its doors in Atmore in 1937.

According to a release, Pilger plans to deliver the same customer service that has made Jason Pilger Hyundai, a dealership he owns in Gautier, Miss., so successful.

“It’s a simple formula,” Pilger said, “treat people like they’re family, and serve those in your community. The rest will take care of itself. We truly believe in taking care of our customers. Our goal is for every customer to leave feeling like they are part of a family, which is why we use our tagline ‘where friends become family’.”

Pilger said he plans to make improvements that will complement the historic look and feel of the newly acquired Chevrolet dealership.

“We will have a state of the art facility that the community will be proud of, and we look forward to servicing our neighbors for years to come,” he said in a release.
