Denver Blake Shuttlesworth

Denver “Bubbie” Blake Shuttlesworth, 19, passed on Thurs., Sept. 6, 2018, in Memphis, Tenn.

He was a native and life-long resident of the Atmore area. He was a member of the Poarch Creek Indians and Friendly Holiness Church. He was a 2017 graduate of the Victory Performing Arts Academy of Pace, Fla., member of the Poarch Creek Indians 4-H Club and the Poarch Creek Indians Summer Youth Program.

He was the 2016 Joy of Life Mardi Gras King, played football and baseball at J.U. Blacksher School, participated in the Native American Youth Organization (NAYO) and was a member of the Skyhigh for St. Jude.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfathers, William Fretwell and Jerry Bailey; and paternal grandparents, Worthy James Shuttlesworth and D.D. Darnell.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Sandy and Darrell Hollinger of Uriah; father, Randal Shuttlesworth of Perdido; brother, Austin Shuttlesworth of Perdido; sister, Anna Grace “Tootie” Hollinger of Uriah; maternal grandmother, Ruth Bailey of Poarch; paternal grandmother, Gladys Darnell of Tuscaloosa; grandparents, Alex “Buster” and Yvonne “Pug” Hollinger of Uriah; special uncle, Randy Fretwell of Poarch; numerous uncles, aunts, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Sept. 11, 2018 from the McCullough Christian Center with Pastor Ray Ward, Bishop Darryl North and Pastor Trevor Daughtry and Pastor Todd Bailey officiating.

Burial followed at the New Home Cemetery.

Visitation was held Sept.10, 2018, from the McCullough Christian Center.

Pallbearers were Austin Shuttlesworth, Randy Fretwell Jr., Dalton Tolbert, Logan Peaden, Cody Rolin, Hunter Tuberville, Joseph Parker and Thornton Sells.

Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Ostmeyer, Jeff Rollo, Wes Rollo, Hunter Peaden, Lane Peaden, Corey Bailey, Rusty Lassiter, Clint Lassiter, Kenneth Robinson, Garrett McMillan, Dakota Barlow, Austin Hadley, Billy Long and the Poarch Creek Indians Tribal Council.

The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers throughout their journey. A very special thank you is extended to St. Jude’s Hospital, Pilots for Christ, Ronald McDonald House, North Baldwin Infirmary, Atmore Community Hospital and the Poarch Creek Indians Health Department.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and Pilots for Christ at P.O. Box 707, Monroeville, AL 36461.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC located in Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.

 

Henry Raymond Robbins

Mr. Henry Raymond “Pop” Robbins, 81, passed away on Wed., Sept. 5, 2018, in Century, Fla.

He was a native and lifelong resident of McDavid, Fla. He was a brick mason by trade, avid fisherman and loved his family. He was of the Baptist Faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Stella Robbins; one son, Ricky Robbins; wife, Margaret Louise Nicholas; two brothers, James R. Robbins and Pellar Robbins; and his dog, Debo.

He is survived by his two sons, Barry (Apryl) Nicholas of McDavid and Clayton (Tammy Moe) Simmons of McDavid; one sister, Carolyn Robbins (Donald) Jordan of Flomaton; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sept. 8, 2018 from the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick MaHarrey officiating.

Visitation was held Sept. 8, 2018 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC was in charge of all arrangements.

Bryson Jayveon Patterson

Infant Bryson Jayveon Patterson, born June 12, 2018, passed away on Sept. 4, 2018 in Molino, Fla.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. Robert J. Patterson III and Ms. Jodie Annette Ard, both of Molino; brother, Robert J. Patterson III; sister, Anashia Andrina Patterson, both of Molino; grandparents, Ms. Sharon Denise McDonald and Mr. Robert Patterson Sr., both of Atmore; and a host of friends and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. this Fri., Sept. 14, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church Hwy. 21 in Atmore, with Pastor J.D. Banks officiating and Pastor F.D. Banks, host pastor. Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery.

Mayberry Funeral Home will be in charge of services.
