Northview battled against one of the best 1A teams in Florida, never giving up in a 35-19 loss on the road tonight.

Chiefs head football coach Derek Marshman said the players battled extremely hard.

NHS took an early 6-0 lead, but BHS scored 20 straight points in response.

“We kept battling and battling,” Marshman said. “We went back and forth, and it was 27-19 at half.”

Marshman said the boys had an opportunity late in the game on a fourth and 2 play, but a bad spot negated any momentum.

“The spot would’ve given us a chance for a first down,” he said.

Onterrio Minor accounted for two touchdowns — one rushing and one receiving — tonight. Seth Killam threw two touchdown passes to Rayvon Bush and Minor.

“We played really well in spurts,” Marshman said. “We’re close to being a good football team. We’re going to continue to work and battle.”

Marshman said there are good teams to come, and it’s a long season.

“We’re looking to be 3-2 next week going into the bye week,” he said.
