Our team did well at this year’s Taste

Last week, the 15th annual Taste of the South commenced at Heritage Park, and I couldn’t have been happier for my team.

We, The Atmore Advance, entered the event as an amateur food vendor. We prepared debris fries — French fries with crock-pot cooked roast beef, gravy and some shredded cheddar cheese.

We got some great feedback on our dish, and it delighted me to no end to hear that.

The next day, Anna, our ad representative, commented that she believed that a lot of people found our dish to be quite good. Yes, I believe it was good.

Not only do vendors have to provide some sort of food option, they typically decorate their booths to win the best-decorated booth award.

Now, I’m no designer or anything, but I must say that Anna, along with Allison, put together a well-thought out both.

All of the poles were wrapped in a black burlap with bows, the front read “The Atmore Newspaper” and heck, we even had a couple older editions, along with new.

We all were pleased with the work we accomplished for this year’s Taste of the South.

Over the weekend, I spent some time thinking about what could’ve been different with this or that.

I honestly couldn’t think of anything we needed to change.

The whole event, along with our team’s effort was something to cherish.
