“This is Atmore’s show.”

That’s how Dirty 30 Southern Heat Wrestling Co-Owner Kevin Presley described The New Beginning, the local wrestling center’s first show, which will be held this Sat., Oct. 13, at 7 p.m.

“We’re going to bring old school wrestling back,” Presley said.

Five matches are slated to be on the fight card for the show. Scheduled to appear are Lord Humongous, Jake Capone, Marcus Gibbs, Nathan Crown, Oliver Steel and more.

Co-Owner Danny Rolin said there are going to be five matches, including two singles matches (one-on-one) and a tag match.

Presley said a lot of work went toward getting the show together.

For example, Rolin and Presley had to build wooden bleachers for the show, which is going to be held at the center at 109 W. Ridgeley St.

“It’s all sort of surreal,” Presley said. “But, it’s here.”

Presley said this show, starting at the wrestling center in Atmore, is going to be a dream come true, a dream that’s been fulfilled since its inception in 1997.

Presley said the wrestling center is thankful for the local businesses that are supporting its efforts.

Each match is sponsored by a different business, Rolin said.

The ceremonial bell ringer is PWC Contractors Owner Peewee Powell.

General admission is $12 each, and doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
