Northview fell 35-7 to rival Baker, Fla. tonight on the road.

The Chiefs trailed 13-7 at halftime, and NHS head football coach Derek Marshman said they didn’t take advantage of some opportunities that were available.

“We didn’t play well,” he said. “We had players that played well. Overall, as a team, we didn’t play well.”
Marshman said the Chiefs turned the ball over on downs on the 1-yard line, and were stopped on three consecutive downs at the 1 prior to the half.

“The better team won tonight,” he said.

Marshman said despite being outscored 22-0 in the second half, he thought the team competed.

“There were a lot of chances we could’ve scored,” he said.

Marshman said the last two weeks were probably the toughest of the season, and is eyeing the last two regular-season games.

“If we win the last two games, we’ll get a playoff game at home,” he said.
