Atmore man dies in crash

An Atmore man died in a crash involving a semi-truck in Santa Rosa County, Fla. on Tuesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Craig Sullivan, 59, died after sustaining injuries from the truck after it unloaded a load of peanuts, according to the FHP.

The FHP said a semi-truck was parked unloading a load of peanuts. After unloading the cargo, the driver, Anthony Mincey, 43, of Edison, Ga., received communication to pull forward.

The FHP said Mincey was unaware that a worker (Sullivan) was under the trailer attempting to clear some debris from the undercarriage.

According to a release, Sullivan was struck by the moving vehicle, and then was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital and later passed away from the injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash is under investigation.
