A Century, Fla. man was arrested on drug charges on Oct. 30, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said Michael Waltson, of Century, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana II and possession of drug paraphernalia. At present, he is out on a $3,000 bond.

Lambert said at approximately 8:40 p.m., Deputy Sam Weeks made a traffic stop on Upper Creek Road for a speeding vehicle.

Lambert said when Weeks made contact with Walston, the driver, he informed him why he stopped him, and said he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

“He asked the subject if there was anything in the vehicle that’s not supposed to be, and the subject stated ‘no,’” Lambert said.

Lambert said Weeks then asked permission to search the vehicle, and Walston consented.

As the subject stepped out of the vehicle, a glass pipe fell out of Walston’s pants and hit the ground, Lambert said, adding that Walston tried to step on the glass pipe.

Afterward, a silver container with marijuana inside was found after a pat down, Lambert said.

Lambert said nothing else was found in the vehicle.
