Winston Earl Montgomery

Funeral services for Mr. Winston Earl Montgomery, 59, of Atmore, will be held this Sat., Nov. 24, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Old Ship Baptist Church in Atmore with the Rev. James Crook, pastor, officiating.

Inhumation will be in Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel LLC directing.

Catherine Estelle Kimmons Buckhault

Catherine Estelle Kimmons Buckhault, 83, of Century, Fla., passed away on

Sat., Nov. 17, 2018, at her residence.

She worked at Bratt Elementary School as a janitor for over 22 years, and was born in Frisco City on Nov. 20, 1935, to the late Russell and Allie Hanks Kimmons Sr.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Marvin Earl Kimmons Sr., Russell Kimmons Jr. and Jerry Mack Kimmons; sister, Alice Faye Wilson; sister in law, Eleanor Hadway Kimmons; and great-grandson, Marcus Barwell Jr.

Survivors are three daughters, Helen (Larry) Lassiter, Margaret Ann “Cricket” Kimmons, both of Atmore, and Connie (Ronnie) Whatley of Perdido; one sister, Betty Jo Wilson of Flomaton; eight grandchildren, Karen, Tina, Wendy, Blake, Jennifer, Kasey Kelli and Kimberly; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Wed., Nov. 21, 2018, from Atmore Memorial Chapel with Sister Kathy Stophel officiating. Interment will follow in Bratt-Godwin Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be Houston Westbrook, Tommy Kimmons, Leslie Barnes, Ricky Harrelson, Marion Cooper, Dale Levins and Benny Kimmons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas McBride, Earnest Rolin, Buddy Kimmons, Kyle Atkins and Eliseo Choncoa.

Family received friends Nov. 20, 2018, at Atmore Memorial Chapel.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Inc. and Atmore Memorial Chapel are in charge of arrangements.

 

Bryson William Woods

Infant Bryson William Woods passed away on Thurs., Nov. 15, 2018, in Pensacola, Fla.

Survivors include his parents, Jake and Devon Marie Woods of Century, Fla.; two sisters, Audrina Woods and Grace Lynn Woods, both of Century; maternal grandparents, Bill and Marie Stuckey of Atmore; and paternal grandparent, Jane Wiggins of Atmore.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wed., Nov. 21, 2018, from the Judson Cemetery with Bro. Bill Stuckey officiating.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC is in charge of all arrangements.

 

Jerry M. Conway

Jerry M. Conway, 59, of Perdido, passed away on Tues., Nov. 13, 2018, at his residence.

He worked at Masland for over 20 Years as a carpet maker and retired from Wind Creek Casino and Hotel. He was born on Sept. 15, 1959, to the late Ralph Russell and Mary Inloes Conway.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors are one son, Jeremy Hadley of Perdido; two daughters,

Rachael Meyers of Indiana and Cheyenne Conway of Tennessee; two brothers, Ralph Wayne (Jennifer) Conway of McCullough and David (Terry) Conway of Perdido; three sisters, Becky Conway of Atmore, Carolyn (Jimmy) Phillips of Uriah and Diane (James) Johnson of McCullough; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Nov. 17, 2018, from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Richard Daniels officiating. Interment was held in McCullough Cemetery.

Family received friends until service time at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of all arrangements.

 

Wendell Carnley

Pastor Wendell Carnley, 52, passed away on Thurs., Nov. 15, 2018, in Atmore.

He was a native and former resident of Brewton and had resided in Flomaton for the past six years.

He was pastor of the Upper Room Church of Jesus Christ, and an employee with the Escambia, Ala. road department.

He is survived by his parents, Ervin and Myrtice Carnley of Brewton; wife, Esther Blair Carnley of Flomaton; two sons, Dusty Carnely of Flomaton and Joseph Philyew of Flomaton; four daughters, Wendy (Jason) Covan of Brewton, Tracy (Chris) McCurdy of Atmore, Shelby Philyew of Brewton and Jessica (Drew) Keefer of Dothan.; two sisters, Gloria (Eric) Jerkins of Millbrook and Melanie Carnley of Tallassee; and five grandchildren, Ryan, Cheyanna, Jackson, Stella and Wiley.

Funeral services were held on Nov. 20, 2018, from the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Carnley officiating.

Burial followed at the Lambeth Cemetery.

Visitation was held Nov. 20 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Brandon Thompson, Woody Daw, Darrin Castleberry, John Castleberry, Hunter Bacon and Randell Blair.

Preston Farish Solomon

Mr. Preston Farish Solomon, 88, passed away on Fri., Nov.16, 2018, in Pensacola, Fla.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Walnut Hill, Fla. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army, where he received a Purple Heart, the Bronze Star V Device and numerous battlefield accommodations. He was a retired farmer and former employee at St. Regis Paper Co. He was a freemason and a member of the Century Masonic Lodge, member of the Purple Heart Association, former director of Escambia River Electric and member of the Walnut Hill Baptist Church. He attended the Annie Jones United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bartow and Jodie Solomon; sister, Juanita Solomon Pacetti; brother, Bartow Solomon Jr.; and granddaughter, Mattie Elizabeth Solomon.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Solomon of Walnut Hill; one daughter, Amelia Solomon (Randy) Frahm of Rockwood, Tenn.; two sons, John Preston (Stephanie) Solomon of Walnut Hill and Joseph Michael (Denise) Solomon of Markham, Texas; and five grandchildren, Tabitha Frahm, Jordan Bartow Frahm, John Preston Solomon, Makenna Solomon Krenek and Levi Godwin Solomon.

Funeral services were held Nov. 20 from the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Lee Bateman officiating. Funeral hymns were sung by Vicki Bagget and Solomon’s nephew, James Earl (Jimmy) Vaughn.

Burial followed at the Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery.

Visitation was held on Nov. 19, 2018, from the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Tabitha Frahm, Jordan Frahm, John Preston Solomon, Makenna Krenek, Levi Godwin Solomon and Jacob Krenek.
