3 area high school seniors named DAR good citizens

The Fort Mims Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) announced the good citizens from three area high schools recently.
The good citizens for 2018-19 are Sara Elizabeth Rolin of Escambia Academy; Darrica Lavell James of Escambia County High School; and Anna Katherine Knowles of Flomaton High School.
The students were selected from the senior class of each school, and based on the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism to an outstanding degree.
The DAR good citizens were eligible to participate in the National DAR Scholarship Contest, which included background information in school and community and essay. All three area citizens participated in the competition.
The chapter winner’s packet then went to district to compete with entries from Baldwin and Mobile Counties. District winner advances to state, and then state winner goes to the national competition.
James was named the Fort Mims Chapter NSDAR winner.
