The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two work-release inmates that escaped from the barracks today, according to officials.
According to the ECSO, Christopher Ladale Pugh, 27, of Brewton, and Christopher Blake Moye, 27, of Brewton, were in jail on theft of property and burglary charges. Pugh was in jail on violation of parole, receiving stolen property I and burglary III, while Moye was in jail for VOP, two counts of theft of property I and theft of property III.
Those who have had contact with either Pugh or Moye, are asked to call the ECO at 251-809-0741.
Earlier this afternoon, Sheriff Grover Smith said the inmates claimed they were too sick to work this morning.
Smith said that K9 tracking dogs were on the ground looking for those escaped.
Patrol units are in place at the intersection of Alco Drive and South Boulevard and an officer is in place at the Boulevard and Persimmon Street.
We will update as more information becomes available.
