Williams, Taylor, Nettles selected to All-State team

Three Escambia County-area basketball players were selected to the Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State basketball team.

The team was announced on Saturday.
Escambia County’s Lue Williams was selected to the Class 4A boys second team; Escambia Academy’s Tiquale Taylor was selected to the AISA boys second team; and T.R. Miller’s Janazsia Nettles was selected to the Class 3A girls second team.
Williams averaged 17.4 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game during his senior season.
Taylor averaged 21.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game for EA.
Nettles led her team in scoring with 15.4 points per game, and averaged 3 rebounds and assists, each per game.
