Gordon, Holt going into HOF, too

The Atmore Hall of Fame committee recently released the inductees of the 2019 class.
The HOF banquet will be held on Sat., April 27, at The Club, at 6 p.m.
This year’s class includes Dr. Wilmer E. Baker; Ann Gordon; Lt. Col (retired) Wayne Stacey; Issac Holt; Novy Lee Hale (deceased); and Robert Faircloth (deceased).
The following bios for Gordon and Holt weren’t included in the Wed., March 20, edition of The Atmore Advance.
Isaac J. Holt Jr.
Atmore native the Rev. Isaac J. Holt Jr. is a veteran of the United States Navy, and while serving a tour of duty at the naval headquarters in Washington, D.C., was licensed to preach in 1986 at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Alexandria, Va. In 1992, he received his ministerial ordination. Holt is a graduate of the Morris College School of religious studies, where he also graduated with a bachelor’s degree in organizational management. He currently serves on numerous community improvement councils and acts as an advisory assistant to law enforcement. He serves on the Royal Foundation Board, Trident Technical College Community board and a former member o the neighborhoods energized to win advisory board and other boards in the Charleston, S.C. area. In 1993, Holt was called to preach at Royal Missionary Baptist Church in north Charleston, and under his leadership, he has helped grow the membership of 200 to more than 2,000. He has also helped with a church capital improvement campaign, which included a $3 million worship center. He also sits on the board for the Royal Foundation. Holt is married to Jannie Singleton of Charleston. They have one son, Isaac Holt III.
Ann P. Gordon
Ann Gordon is a native of Atmore, and has been married to Donald Gordon for 48 years. She has one daughter, Dr. Amber Gordon (Brad Butler), and one grandson, Alexander Butler. She graduated from Escambia County High School in 1966; the Alverson Draughn Business College Business Automation; Jefferson Davis Community College, where she studied interior design; the University of Montevallo, where she studied home economics; received her Alabama real estate license from Century 21 School of Real Estate; and received an Alabama real estate appraisers license from the American Real Estate institute. Gordon’s business experience includes as a broker/owner of Atmore Realty and Baldwin Realty Brokers; professional office management United Appeal, Southern Research, Birmingham News Public Affairs and Birmingham Trust National Bank; and at First Baptist Church of Center Point as director of activities. Her real estate experience includes earning the realtor emeritus award for dedication to the real estate profession for more than 40 years, 42 years in real estate sales, marketing and management; as sales and marketing director for two national homebuilders, The Mitchell Company of Mobile and Birmingham and Pensacola, Fla., and Ken Lokey Homes in Houston, Texas, Birmingham and Nashville, Tenn.; developed a housing program fro the disabled and elderly for Barrier Free Housing; managed properties rented to low income residencts; served as a consultant to a minority building company for federal and state assistance programs; served on a HUD advisory council for the southern region during President Ronald Regan’s term; and other boards and designations. On a local level, she is serfving on the advisory committee for the Atmore Community Foundation; is a member of First Baptist Church of Atmore; serves on the board of directors of the Little Rock Volunteer Fire Department; and was vice president, secretary/treasurer of Peacock Enterprises, Peacock Pavers and Enhance Architectural Products.
