Thirteen teams have registered for the Atmore Rotary Club’s fifth annual Benefit Clay Shoot, which will be held Sat., April 13, at Bushy Creek Clays, according to officials.
Clay Shoot Coordinator Allen Walston said more teams can sign up for the shoot.
Cost for a team after is $500, or $125 per shooter.
The clay shoot’s funds raised go to the many local projects supported by the club.
The shoot format is teams of four to shoot a round of 100 targets each from 14 stations. Each person will shoot between six to eight targets at each station.
After all teams have finished their round, the scores for each team will be tallied and the team with the highest number of hits will win the event.
Shells will not be included and must be provided by the shooter. Each shooter should bring 110 shells at a minimum.
Eye and ear protection must be worn, and carts are limited and must be reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Participants can bring golf carts or utility vehicles as well.
Teams can also register on the day of the shoot at 8 a.m. A safety meeting will be at 9, and then a shotgun start is slated for 9:30 a.m. Lunch and team awards will follow.
In addition to teams, the club is still looking for live station sponsors for the shoot. The tournament sponsor this year is Wind Creek Casino and Hotel.
