Officials: Whole community came together

Officials said Monday that the fair over the weekend on the grounds of the Escambia County Training School was a big success.

“This fair was something for the whole community,” Organizer Lillie Johnson said. This just goes to show you that Atmore is a good place to be. We stay together, pray together and be together.”

Johnson thanked the Atmore Police Department, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Councilman Jerome Webster, the city street department and others.

Johnson said the fair has been all over the United States, and the owner said Atmore is the best place they’ve ever been.

“They want to come back again,” she said.

Johnson said she estimates thousands attended the fair, which was held April 5-7.
