Pearline Daughtry McGhee, 83, of Poarch, passed away on May 8, 2019, in Atmore.

She was born on June 22, 1935 in Poarch, to the late Homer Jack and Nora McGhee Daughtry.

She was a retired department director at the Department of Defense Army Depot, Corpus Christi, Texas.

She was a member of the Poarch Creek Indians and formally served on the Tribal Council. She was a lifelong member of the Friendly Holiness Church and was a daughter in law to the late Chief Calvin McGhee.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis Edward McGhee; brother, W.C. Daughtry; sister, Earline D. Coleman; grandchild, Amber Holland; and great-grandchild, Alayna Blaire Knowles.

Survivors are one son, Rickey McGhee of Canoe; three daughters, Rose McGhee Coon, Carrie (Randy) Martin and Charlene McGhee, all of Poarch; and one sister, Betty (Leonard) Garlitz of Birmingham, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

Services were held May 13, 2019, from McCullough Christian Center with Bro Ralph Coleman and Bro. Ray Ward officiating. Interment followed in New Home Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Sammy Bostic, Dylan McGhee, Curtis Hayes, Kaweta Coon, Cedo Coon and Noah Coon. Honorary pallbearers were Homer Coleman, Kenny Coleman, Doyle Coleman, Stevie Carpenter, Robbie McGhee, Calvin McGhee, Tyler McGhee and Daniel McGhee.

Family received friends May 12, 2019, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
