Making Alabama. A Bicentennial Travel Exhibit will be in Atmore at The Club for a few more days. The exhibit’s last day is this Thurs., May 23.

The exhibit is presented by the Alabama Humanities Foundation with support from the Alabama Bicentennial Commission and Alabama Department of Archives and History. Each community that has hosted the exhibit has the opportunity to put their own local signature in the lead up to the celebration of the state’s 200th birthday, according to the bicentennial’s website.

Artifacts, storyboards, storytellers, festivals, vintage and antique photographs and so much more have greeted Making Alabama’s entrance. Additionally, Making Alabama will have panels depicting periods of Alabama’s history plus the people who played prominent roles in that history. Coupled with interactive computer tablets at each kiosk that let attendees delve deeper into those periods of history, visitors will grasp how the state came together.
