UPDATE: Atmore fell 4-1 to Choctaw/Washington during its first game. The All-Stars’ next game is less than 10 minutes away against Mathews Park.

Atmore’s 12U Cal Ripken All-Stars begin state tournament action today in Sylacauga.

The baseball team will be competing in pool play today and the start of tomorrow before it transitions to single elimination bracket play Friday afternoon.

Atmore faces Choctaw/Washington today at noon, and Mathews Park at 4 p.m. On Friday, Atmore plays Florence at 10 a.m. to conclude pool play.

There are three other pools with four teams in each.

The top three teams from each pool advance to single elimination play. Each top seeded team gets a bye in the first round.
