Mr. Wayne Louis Stewart, 69, passed away on June 17, 2019, in Bay Minette.

Mr. Stewart was a native and life long resident of Bay Minette.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving with the U.S. Army and was a member of the Rabun Church of God.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Khola and Louise Stewart.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Henrietta E. Stewart of Bay Minette; four sons, David Wayne (Christy) Stewart of Bay Minette, Jerry Mac Merritt of Bay Minette, Elie Merritt Jr. of Spanish Fort and Kenny Ladnier of Montgomery; two daughters, Kristie (Chris) Hadley of Bay Minette and Kathleen Wilson of Bay Minette; two sisters, Laura Lee Matthews of Bay Minette and Dianna Marie (Joe Henry) McLendon of Bay Minette; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held June 22, 2019, at the Rabun Church of God with Bro. Randall Short, Bro. Carl Smith and Sis. Helen Stewart officiating.

Burial will follow at Dean Cemetery.

Visitation was held June 21, 2019 at the Rabun Church of God.

Pallbearers were Brandon Stewart, Keith Stewart, Tyler Burr, Russell Merrit, Tracey Stewart and Richard Brooks.

Honorary pallbearers were Chris Stacey and Lee Williamson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
