2 injured in Friday wreck

Two women were injured in a two-vehicle wreck Aug. 23 at the intersection of Craig Street and Highway 21 (South Main Street), according to the Atmore Police Department.

According to the wreck report, the wreck occurred at 4:20 p.m. Sereida Ruiz, 20, of Atmore, was driving a 2008 Nissan Altima, and Karen Morin, 57, of Brewton, was driving a 1998 Mercury Grand Prix.

Ruiz was transported to an area hospital by Atmore Ambulance, and Morin was transported to Atmore Community Hospital by ASAP Ambulance. A passenger in Morin’s vehicle was transported to ACH by ASAP Ambulance for treatment of injuries.

According to the report, the Altima was traveling north, and the Grand Prix was traveling south on Main Street. The Altima made a left turn onto Craig Street when the wreck occurred.
