Mr. Melvin L. Carpenter, 74, passed away on Fri., Aug. 30, 2019 in Pensacola, Fla.
Mr. Carpenter was a native and former resident of Atmore, and had resided in Bay Minette for the past 59 years. He was retired from Atlantic Marine and Alabama Dry Dock as a machinist with over 30 years of service. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Biggs Carpenter; parents, Ira and Lennie Carpenter; sister, Marilyn Carpenter Welch; and brother, Jerry Carpenter.
He is survived by one son, John “Randy” (Donna) Carpenter of Perdido; two daughters, Angela (Al) Jordan of Bay Minette and Sonya (Matt) Calametti of Mobile; two brothers, Steve (Gail) Carpenter of Atmore and Raymond (Rebecca) Carpenter of McDavid, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Alex Carpenter, Danielle Carpenter, Andy Jordan, Gage Calametti, Justin Calametti and Joseph Calametti.
Funeral services were held Sept. 6, 2019 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sis. Eloise Stewart officiating.
Burial followed at Serenity Garden Cemetery.
Visitation was held Sept. 6, 2019 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Al Jordan, Andy Jordan, Christian Black, Jimmy Biggs, Gage Calametti, Matt Calametti and Rick Burkett.
Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC of Atmore was in charge of all arrangements.
