Ms. Jessie Bernice Wesley, 86, of Atmore (Canoe Community), entered from time into eternity on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, at Solaris Healthcare in Pensacola, Fla.

A native of Atmore, Ms. Wesley was a graduate of Escambia County Training School in 1951. She worked as a merchandise handler with J.C. Penney for 22 years until she retired. She was a member of St. John Devine Missionary Baptist Church in Pensacola. She had a love for cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Amy Wesley; and her brothers.

Those left to cherish memories of her life are her son, Charles E. (Sarah) Wesley of Theodore; two daughters, Marilyn Wesley of Atmore and Amy Y. Wesley of Union City, Ga.; two sisters, Voncile Wesley of Newark, N.J. and Evelyn Louise (Jesse) Richardson of Atmore; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held this Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, 48 Liberty Street, Atmore with the Rev. Isaac Bradley, pastor and Dr. James P. Brown Sr., as eulogist. Retirement of her remains will be in Stallworth Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
